So happy together

The relationship between Audra and Phoebe has really grown into a genuine friendship in the past few months! I just wish that translated into better sharing skills!

Take me out to the ball game

One of the perks of Ben's job is that all mid-level providers get tickets to one Cardinal's game per season. Our game was on July 2nd and we had a fantastic time!
Of course the girls' favorite part was eating treats in the lounge
What a great view!!!

The wild kingdom of STL

Sunday, July 19, 2009

In our short time here in STL we have discovered that our house is a haven for multiple animals. The question I ask myself is how the heck are they getting through our fence?
We found this turtle right outside our backdoor the other day during a rain storm, apparently his shell was not enough protection for him.
This VERY young deer managed to squeeze his small body though the fence and find a safe & warm place to rest.
We have also found several nests of bunnies (Greta found the first one before we realized what was happening but the second one was farther from the house and those bunnies have since found new homes). Since our house backs up to a small stream I am interested to see what other creatures find their way into our yard.

A visit from the North

Saturday, July 18, 2009

Last week my friend Dawn and her son Noah came down from Wisconsin for a short visit. We had such a great time showing them the sights, sounds, and tastes of STL. I took the opportunity to introduce Dawn to Sonic Cherry Limeaides and the tastiness that is Chipotle. Of course she is a super fan now! Here are a few pictures we took while at the arch (I forgot my camera when we went to the zoo and pool).
(Audra actually took this picture!)
Audra really wanted to go up in the arch but with my fear of heights and Phoebe's fear of elevators I decided to postpone the trip until Ben can go with us.
(Phoebe's view of the arch)

Wait are you 30 or 80?

So I have decided to expand my sewing skills to include quilting. My friend from church is teaching a class this summer called Irish Chain in a day... we will see if I can accomplish this feat in the time alloted.
Here is a snapshot of the fabric I plan on using. Depending on how the quilt turns out I will post finished pictures in the near future, stay tuned.

Trip to Hays

Last week the girls and I traveled to Hays, Kansas to visit my sister Rebecca, her husband Quinn and their two girls. I can't believe it had been a year since I had seen my sister in person - we talk frequently on Skype but that is not quite the same thing. While it was great to see my niece Nora who has changed SO much in the last year it was really nice to meet Abigail the newest member of the Krehbiel family. She is so stinking cute!

The cousins had such a great time entertaining each other... with minimal fighting!

These are just a few of my favorite pictures from the week. The first was the girls exploring the play equipment while we were trying to take their picture, the second is Phoebe literally flying off the slide, and that last is a snapshot of Audra, well, being herself!

My fantastic sister takes pictures or My sister takes fantastic pictures - you decide!

While in Kansas visiting my sister Rebecca I was able to "bribe" her into taking some pictures of the girls. As always she did a fantastic job and I hope I don't have to wait another year to get really good pictures of the girls.

Finally some pictures of me with the girls!
